San Antonio Real Estate Market?

2 Musts for a Successful Real Estate Transaction

If you’re thinking of buying or selling a home next year, you’ll need to be prepared for a more challenging real estate market than we’ve seen in the past few years. That doesn’t mean it will be impossible to buy or sell—it just means you’ll need to be strategic about it. Here are two must-dos for a successful transaction.

1. Listing Your Property? Get a Pre-Listing Inspection.
If you’re listing your property, one of the best things you can do is get a pre-listing inspection. This allows you to start negotiations with confidence, knowing that your home is in good condition. Plus, some real estate agents will market your home as “Certified Pre-Owned,” which can make it more attractive to buyers.

2. Buying a Home? Get an Option Period and Home Inspection.
If you’re buying a home, don’t skip the option period or forego the home inspection just to make your offer more attractive. Last year, many buyers thought this was in their best interest—but it’s only good for the seller. By skipping these important steps, you’re giving up your negotiating power as a buyer.

The real estate market is projected to be more challenging next year, but that doesn’t mean buying or selling will be impossible. If you’re strategic about it, you can still have a successful transaction. Just make sure to get a pre-listing inspection if you’re listing your property, and don’t skip the option period or home inspection if you’re buying. With these two must-dos, you’ll be well on your way to a successful real estate transaction.
